TAGBASE

Getting started

Your first product

From a new account to a verifiable product, end to end.

Reading about tags only gets you so far, so this chapter starts hands-on. Tags you order from us can arrive preconfigured and ready to ship, but you can also write blank TAGBASE tags yourself with the TAGBASE Writer app for iPhone or Android. That’s the fastest way to try TAGBASE end to end, and this walkthrough covers the whole path, from a new account to a product your customers can verify.

You need a blank TAGBASE tag and an NFC-enabled phone.

1. Create your account

Sign up with your email and a password, or continue with Apple, Google, or LinkedIn. Then create your team. Everything you set up in this guide belongs to that team.

2. Create a product

Open Products in the dashboard and create your first product. Give it a title and, if you like, images and documents. As you type, the dialog previews the page customers see after a successful scan.

3. Install the Writer app

Writing tags happens from your phone. Right after you create a product, the dashboard opens a dialog with the remaining setup steps. Scan the store code for your phone and install the TAGBASE Writer app, or open the store page directly:

You only need the app to write tags. Your customers verify products in a browser without installing anything. More about the app, including the official store QR codes: the TAGBASE Writer app.

Open the app and sign in with the account from step 1. The app hands you to the browser to pick a team. A fresh account has no platform team yet, so choose Link Verify Team and sign in with your Verify account. That connects the team from step 1. You can switch teams later from the app’s account menu.

5. Write a tag

In the app, choose the product from step 2 and hold a blank TAGBASE tag to your phone. The app sets the tag up and links it to your product. The tag is live from that moment.

Next: verify it the way a customer will, in scanning a tag.
