Counterfeiting has a simple root problem: anything printed on a product can be copied. A counterfeiter photographs the QR code or serial number on one genuine item and stamps the copy on every fake. The customer scanning that code has no way to tell the original from the clone.
TAGBASE solves this by moving the proof off the label and into the product itself. Each product carries a small dynamic NFC tag. When customers tap it with their phone, a verification page opens in the browser and tells them, in seconds, whether the product is genuine. They install no app and create no account.
The word dynamic is what makes this work. A dynamic tag produces fresh, single-use proof on every tap. Copying one tap’s URL onto a cheap tag gets a counterfeiter nothing: the copy can only replay yesterday’s proof, and TAGBASE rejects it. Authenticity is anchored in the physical tag, not in a code that can be photographed or duplicated.
What you get
- App-free verification: customers verify a product with a tap, straight from the browser on any NFC-enabled phone.
- Tags that can’t be cloned: a static copy fails the two-scan liveness check (see how it works).
- A brand dashboard: manage products, watch verifications arrive live on a world map, and review history and statistics.
- Your own branding: show your logo and content on the verification page, or go fully white-label and serve it from your own domain.
Who it’s for
Any brand whose customers care that the product is real:
- Luxury goods: watches, handbags, fashion
- Cosmetics and personal care: tamper-evident packaging and origin
- Premium beverages: a digital identity per bottle or release
- Art and collectibles: provenance tracking
Beyond fighting fakes, the same tap opens a direct channel to the customer: warranties, manuals, videos, and post-purchase experiences, right at the moment they hold your product.
How these docs read
They’re written to be read front to back, like a book. This chapter explains the idea and the security behind it. Getting started takes you from a new account to a tag you can scan. The dashboard and team chapters cover daily work, and your own domain covers going white-label. You can also dip in anywhere; every page stands on its own.
